There is no manual for how to be an authentic human. Most of us tend to struggle to figure out who we are and how we do what we do. Psychotherapy is a process of encountering oneself and finding congruence in one's life. Each one of us has the natural ability to re-balance and readjust in response to the shifts and changes in our lives – we just need help gaining insights and awareness to do so. Body, Mind and Emotions – all of you matters
The therapeutic modalities I practice involve the sensorimotor aspects of how we create reality: the bodies subtle movement and sensations, our five sense perception, our emotions and cognition. All aspects have importance as they provide information so you can direct your insights to be more effective in your life. Awareness of your nervous system also fuels change.
Negative Patterns – getting unstuck
Together we will identify patterns that are not serving you. These patterns and habits were creative adaptations in the past and have outlived their usefulness. I will offer support, be sensitive to your experience, and provide challenges when needed.
Methods of change – present centred
We will use a direct experiential method via mindfulness: body awareness, role plays, art therapy, sensory awareness work, dreamwork, and psychodrama. It is important to experience things from new perspectives to see what is possible. I endeavour to create a space for change. Change is possible ONLY by attending to the present moment. Whatever issue you bring to a session is of immediate concern. You as the client co-create the focus and momentum of each session.
Healing
I can help you alleviate stress, anxiety, depression, anger, fear, and phobias. I am trauma informed. My practice assists people dealing with chronic illness, health disorders, loneliness and longing, grief, loss, and abuse. I also work with couples in relationship so they may you create the life they want in a non-judgemental manner. I am LGBTQ positive.
It is a privilege to work as a psychotherapist. I am always amazed by my clients uniqueness and choices. An initial face to face 30 minute consultation session is no charge as it is important for you to determine whether you will be comfortable working in a therapeutic relationship with me.
