My Experience :
I have been an artist, educator and a student of shamanism. Psychotherapy is the culmination of these experiences.

Training
I have completed four years of training at the Gestalt Institute of Toronto. I hold certificates in Gestalt Theory and Methodology, Advanced Gestalt Leadership (2010) and in the Post Graduate Program of Training and Supervision in Gestalt Theory (2011).
I am trained in EFT at the Emotion Focused Therapy for Couples Institute at the Emotion-Focused Therapy Clinic at York University.
I studied Foundations in Applied Mindfulness at the University of Toronto's Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work.
I am informed by IFS (Internal Family Systems), given training by Frank Anderson.
I was trained to be trauma informed by the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute (2017) in Level 1: Affect Dysregulation, Survival Defences, and Traumatic memory.
I was involved with the research conducted by PPRNet (Psychotherapy Practice Research Network) and trained in Achieving Therapeutic Effectiveness, a study workshop reinforcing the need for a powerful therapeutic alliance.
College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the CRPO and abide by its bylaws and ethical standards.
OACCPP – Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists -supports my committment to ongoing learning, supervision, and professional development.
I‘ve ‘been around the block’
Many aspects of my past experiences have proven to enrich my present psychotherapy career – I see a thread that connects all parts into a coherent whole, the sum of which I bring to my clients. I have been a student and a teacher, a client and a therapist. After earning a BFA (1981) and a MFA (1989) I entered the life of a practising artist and educator as faculty at Queens University, the University of Lethbridge, the Alberta College of Art and the Art Gallery of Ontario. Thirteen years were subsequently spent teaching art and critical thinking at Upper Canada College in Toronto in the International Baccalaureate Program. I was raised in the Latvian Lutheran Church and have been a student of shamanism for over 20 years while practicing mindful meditation. I have much to bring to my clients philosophically, creatively, and spiritually. I live on Toronto Island with my life partner.
